The easiest way of handling the mainsail is from the cockpit.
With Seldén's in-mast furling system there is an outhaul
line for rolling out the sail, and an endless line for rolling
it in. If you wish, you can operate the sail at the mast using
a winch handle.
Greasing holes in the mast facilitate maintenance - a simple,
but important detail found only on Seldén Mast systems.

masts incorporate an additional luff groove for a storm sail
or reserve mainsail".
Easy halyard replacement.
Replacing a halyard ought to be an easy matter. But with some
systems, it is impossible to do this without partially dismantling
the system. Furlin Main is designed to make all components easily
accesible, and even comes with masthead blocks to enable you
using the topping lift as a spare halyard or hoist a spare sail
in the extra luff groove.

retains its efficient shape, even when reefed.

system, is based on the same well proven proven furling
and reefing mechanism as Seldén in-mast furlig.
The mechanism is fitted to the aft face of your existing
mast. This simple and handy solution will turn your present
mast into a complete in-mast furling mast.
Easy
rolling.
Seldèn in-mast furling and reefing system rotates
easily even under high load. The gearing of the winch and
the asymmetrically positioned sail openings reduce friction
between the sail and the extrusion.
The luff extrusion
is tensioned and fitted with ball races top and bottom.
The halyard swivel is fitted with Seldèn's patented
load distributor, which was originally developed for the
Furlex foresail reefing system. The design of the load distributors
spreads the load over the entire bearing race, preventing
point loading. This means that the halyard swivel not only
turns more easily, but also has a considerably increased
service life.
